Netherton United Under 15s Girls : official website of Peterborough football club - footeo

History of the Club

2003 and, an open morning attracts over a hundred local females of a young age looking to start playing football in Peterborough. From those selected the Diamonds are on their way to what will become the most successful female football club in the area.

With over forty awards gained by our players including, league winners, league cups and County honours our trophy room reflects the high standards our club have reached.

Players from the Diamonds have gone on to represent clubs such as Arsenal ,Chelsea, Leicester, Lincoln, MK Dons and, an inclusion in the England team for one of our goal keepers is a real testament of what we have on offer!

The principals of our club are and have always been very simple, come along and enjoy your football and any awards gained are a bonus.

Unlike several other clubs in the area our belief is to supply home grown talent through offering a high standard of training and an on going opportunity to progress to the very top in ladies football.

The 2007/2008 season and our first ladies team is created from players who have come through the ranks and, the following campaign gain their award as Fenland league champions.

In the 2010/2011 season we would see the Diamonds join up with the largest male football club in Peterborough, ”Netherton United F.C” a link that offered us a platform for further success and the opportunity to have our own ground complete with club house and now the latest 3G football pitch.

2013 and we reach our 10th Anniversary, a time to reflect on what has been achieved from such a humble beginning and what we have to offer for the future generation of players and those that work for and support the teams?

The 2013/2014 season will see the Diamonds name removed and, our teams will all play under the “Netherton United Ladies & Girls” banner.

A fond farewell to the Diamonds name but, a time to move on and take the next generation of players through their respective age groups and perhaps onto an England call up?

We are an FA Charter Standard Community Club with fantastic facilities, why not come along and see what we can offer you as a player, you won’t be disappointed and there will be a warm welcome waiting for  you
